Taking a Gamble in Vegas

No, we don't gamble! But we did buy a house! We have really enjoyed house hunting and watching HGTV to prepare. We made offers on a total of three houses---which was scary and exciting each time! Our offer was accepted on this house and we will close this upcoming week (assuming that the home inspection goes well).

We are so excited about our first home. We are glad to settle down and stop renting and to have a permanent address that isn’t our parents’ houses. I am looking forward to decorating and choosing my own paint colors. Brian is looking forward to ripping out the linoleum in the bathrooms and learning how to tile.

This house has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths and it was built in 2008. The upside and also downside to this house is that it was a foreclosure. We were able to get a good price on the house because it was a foreclosure, so that’s good news. But the house has a few issues too---the AC unit was stolen, a window was broken, and the previous owner took all the appliances. So those are all things we will have to replace as soon as we move in. But all in all, we are very pleased with the house and looking forward to making it our own!

  1. saw your comment on my blog and i didn't know what your email was to respond :) so, i just hopped on your blog!

the topic of perfection is one that i've been talking about a lot lately as well. it's something that most women feel pressure from, but think they're the only ones feeling it until they decide to open up with someone else about it. then, we realize we ALL are feeling it. it's a vicious cycle and one that is very hard to break. having kids is definitely a big distraction from caring too much about what others think!

anywho, congratulations on your house! it's beautiful and i hope you like living in las vegas. where do you plan on ending up? is the program there 3 years?

it was great hearing from you! my email is madiola44 at gmail dot com
