Jessica Simpson's shoes

I love Jessica Simpson’s shoe line. I personally own lots of her shoes because they are mostly very comfortable for how high the heels are! Most people think I am 5'7" because I usaully sporting crazy high shoes, but I am only 5'4''.

The other day I mentioned to Brian that I love her shoes. And Brian, being completely, 100 percent serious said, “Yeah know, you should call and tell her that. I bet she would really appreciate you saying that.” HA. I just laughed. Aren’t husbands so cute? Sure Brian, I’ll just text Jessica and let her know. Like she would care what I thought. She might appreciate me buying more of her shoes or providing this free advertising on my infrequently viewed blog, so I think I will go these routes. Plus, I wouldn't know where to begin to get her phone number.

Oh and by the way her boots have pretty wide calves, so those with bigger legs (like me) can wear them with jeans tucked in. She has new styles of boots every fall/winter and if I had $200 to spend on a pair of boots every fall/winter season I would!

Three Wonderful Years

Brian and I have been married for three years. It has been wonderful being married to my best friend! We have moved a lot of times (6 and half times), we have an adorable little boy named James who is just over a year, we both finished our undergrads at BYU, Brian has completed one year of law school, and we just bought a house (Well it's still in escrow, but basically). So it has been a busy three years and I don't see it slowing down anytime soon, but at least with our new house we won't have to move as much!

As I mentioned in my previous post, here I am in my "bridal costume." I felt silly in all the garb that I didn't want to wear lots of makeup to add to how silly I thought I looked. So I think all I was wearing was mascara and I just blow-dried my own hair. Looking back I probably should have tried a little harder to look fancy, but at the time I just wanted to get married and didn't really care about the pictures. (Plus the wedding was at like 9 AM.)

I am so glad that Brian chose to marry me! I am so happy to be married to him and to share our lives together!

Proof I Graduated

I am not very fond of graduations. I hate the crowds and all the formality and I didn't want to wait around all day in lines so I opted not to walk. My husband Brian made me take these pictures to prove to my posterity that I graduated from college. I agreed that I did need some sort of proof for all my hard work because both my mother and grandmother had children and grandchildren that didn't believe they attended and graduated from college. So I bit the bullet and went to take some pictures. I suppose I could have just bought my cap and gown on Craigslist and I borrow a tassel from my cousin for the pictures... Oh wait, that IS what I did!

I felt so silly in the gown and it reminded me of my wedding day because I felt so silly in my big dress with the veil and the jewelry and everything. On my wedding day I felt like I was dressing up for Halloween (a holiday I'm not fond of). I kept referring to it as my "wedding costume." So the graduation gown felt just as weird to me and I would only take pictures on a Saturday because then no one would be on campus and therefore no one would see me! Brian says that graduating is something I should feel proud of, but I can't help but feel embarrassed!

So here is the proof!

Here is a throwback picture of my high school graduation. Ironically the first things my husband found out about me before we dated were the awards I won at my high school graduation after he Googled me! (Creeper, right?)

Taking a Gamble in Vegas

No, we don't gamble! But we did buy a house! We have really enjoyed house hunting and watching HGTV to prepare. We made offers on a total of three houses---which was scary and exciting each time! Our offer was accepted on this house and we will close this upcoming week (assuming that the home inspection goes well).

We are so excited about our first home. We are glad to settle down and stop renting and to have a permanent address that isn’t our parents’ houses. I am looking forward to decorating and choosing my own paint colors. Brian is looking forward to ripping out the linoleum in the bathrooms and learning how to tile.

This house has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths and it was built in 2008. The upside and also downside to this house is that it was a foreclosure. We were able to get a good price on the house because it was a foreclosure, so that’s good news. But the house has a few issues too---the AC unit was stolen, a window was broken, and the previous owner took all the appliances. So those are all things we will have to replace as soon as we move in. But all in all, we are very pleased with the house and looking forward to making it our own!
